Des Parker is a comedy writer who lives just around the corner from Moreton Bay in Brisbane. He is Australian of Welsh Descent, married to an English sounding Australian woman of Scottish descent who is also a writer. They live in a brick house of mud descent and Des occasionally makes a series of bad puns that annoy the dog.

He has written two plays for a community amateur theatre, been artistic director of  an amateur theatre company, performed on stage, and been thrown off stage for appalling stand-up comedy.

He has a Degree in English which technically means he should be able to write.  He also plays piano a little and has an electric guitar which he doesn't play anywhere near enough to be cool.

He has written short stories and has a pile of notebooks full of new stories that he is slowly turning into something that won't scare cats.  

He spent several years working in the government sector which is why he writes comedy, it was the only way to clear his mind, after years of watching red tape stop anything useful happening.

HIs first trilogy of novels is about zombies, probably also as a result of his government experience or the fact that zombie novels were a fad he was trying to cash in on. 

He is working on several things at once, including stories involving  space aliens, time travelling dinosaurs, witches, super-soldiers, archaeologists and victorian era detectives.
